The Retreat Experience

The Retreat Experience is our signature approach to care - guided outdoor engagement designed to honor how dogs naturally move, explore, rest, and connect.

At this time, The Retreat Experience is offered as an add-on to boarding only, providing dogs with structured outdoor sessions balanced with intentional rest and individual attention.

The Retreat Experience offers an open-air outdoor space designed for dogs to move, sniff, and explore naturally. With room to roam and structured supervision, it supports healthy pack interaction, physical movement, and mental enrichment — the way dogs are meant to spend their day.

Each session is thoughtfully led by trained, attentive handlers and includes:

  • Exploration and sensory engagement through scent and investigation
  • Natural movement without pressure or forced activity
  • Social interaction with compatible dogs**
  • Purposeful rest
  • Individual human connection and observation

** All dogs participating in any form of social interaction must be spayed or neutered at the appropriate age. This requirement ensures a safe and effective environment for all dogs involved. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our staff**

COMING SOON! DAY TRIPS

Day trips for The Retreat Experience are coming soon, allowing dogs to enjoy the same calm, countryside engagement, without an overnight stay.

Benefits of The Retreat Experience

Promotes calm and emotional balance

Designed to support the whole dog - physically, mentally, and emotionally - by working with their natural instincts.

Playful and Fun Activities

We believe in providing a fun and playful environment for dogs to enjoy. Our facility is equipped with toys, agility equipment and plenty of space for dogs to run around and play. We also offer individual playtime sessions for dogs who prefer one-on-one attention.

Supports natural canine instincts

Dogs are meant to sniff, explore, observe, move freely, and rest when their bodies ask for it.  The Retreat Experience allows dogs to engage in their instinctual behaviors daily, which leads to greater confidence, curiosity, and emotional security.

Healthier social interaction

Instead of traditional group play, social interaction is carefully guided and based on compatibility.  Dogs learn to coexist, communicate appropriately, and engage socially - supporting healthier long-term social skills.

Reduces overstimulation and burnout

Traditional daycare environments can overwhelm a dog, especially as they age or if they are more sensitive.  Our structured sessions and slower rhythm reduce over-arousal, helping to prevent stress-relatehttps://websites.godaddy.com/boardingd behaviors like reactivity.

Builds trust though consistency

Dogs thrive on predictability.  A consistent daily rhythm - movement, exploration, rest, and human connection - creates a sense of safety and trust.

Individual attention and observation

Trained, attentive handlers are actively observing.  This allows us to recognize subtle changes in behavior, energy, and comfort levels, and adjust each dg's experience accordingly.
